Original oil painting by Liz Vaughn, "Anointing The Heart." Switching back and forth between a graphic figurative style and an abstract style provides a certain type of artistic freedom. If one style feels heavy and overworked, I allow myself to move into a different space. I believe it helps me evolve with each new creation, and it keeps things fresh. I frequently lament how difficult gold paint is to apply, but I keep coming back for more! The entire background is gold on this piece, sometimes it looks a bit flat in a photo.
Please note the 2nd and 3rd photos are various stage in the creative process.
