As I have mentioned in a few of the newer paintings, my figurative work has come full circle and is reminiscent of a style that I used early in my career. I have always loved Expressionism, it feels free, natural, and uncontrived. I feel an emotional pull, a passion, when I paint in this style that is ultimately transforming my work. This particular piece I felt really started that forward movement and true momentum. The last two photos show the initial sketch and the beginning transformation.
