Original oil painting by Liz Vaughn. "Arrogant Art Mentors". As you may have noticed by now, I love the intrigue a title can create. This painting was created using a whole lot of paint, and during a time when I painted mostly with palette knife. You know it's thick when you can actually feel the texture. The long and short of the story behind the painting is about two artists who adored each other and the work they created, but thought each others art mentors were quite arrogant and full of themselves. Now you know the absolute truth, and a very tongue in cheek interpretation of how it all came to be.
This is a piece I lovingly refer to as one of my "Vintage Vaughn" paintings. An older piece that has yet to be adopted, but is too fun to archive. It has a few nicks and repairs, but still is worthy of gracing any wall and telling a story about art.
